Spotted Cascade

I finished my first Megan Nielsen pattern, The Cascade Skirt, and I love it! It is going to be the perfect skirt for summer and I felt very summery while wearing it.
This is my wearable muslin and I did make some adjustments, which I will keep in mind for future Cascade skirts.
It is the perfect skirt for twirling around..

Sun, knitting and a miniskirt

I've finished two skirts recently and luckily we had some really warm weather this weekend, so I had the chance to wear both of them!
I am also working on the Vito sweater from We Are Knitters, my first sweater ever and it is coming along nicely!

The first skirt I made using the Easy Peasy Pleated Miniskirt tutorial from Elisalex from By Hand London. The other one is Megan Nielsen's Cascade skirt, which I will blog about later!

My third wiggle dress, beer and cake

After making a wiggle dress in stretch fabric and one in wool, I've decided to make another one in silk. I finished it on sunday, but my lapped zipper was super wonky and had to be ripped out..
First time photographing silk, I guess you see all the wrinkles!
Then my dog Milo wasn't feeling all too well, so I had to take him to work to get him checked out. Because of that I only changed the zipper today, but now it's ready to be blogged about!

At least he hasn't lost his appetite..
That's at least two of the perks of being a vet, you get a lot of cake and you can bring your dog when he's feeling a bit under the weather..

Two first times at once, the Maritime shorts...

With summer (very) slowly approaching in The Netherlands I figured my closet could use some shorts. When I saw the Maritime shorts from Grainline Studio, I knew these would be the ones I was going to make.
I also made this shirt, very comfy cotton from Mood!

This was my first time sewing shorts (apart from my Madeleine mini bloomers) and my first time usinga Grainline Studio pattern. I didn't use the instructions at all, but I followed the sewing tutorial, which has photos of every step.

WIP: Wiggle in process..

After the love story that was my last wiggle dress I've decided to make another one.

This time I wanted to make one that was more suited for summer so I choose a silk from my stash that's dark blue with red polka dots..

It was a coupon which cost me 2.50 euro, not bad for enough silk to make a short sleeved wiggle dress out of right?

I can almost make it without the instructions, but just to be sure..

At the same time I cut out my Maritime shorts pattern, this will be the first Grainline Studio pattern that I'm going to make, as well as my first pair of shorts ever, so I'm quite excited!
